AUSTRALIA – In a strategic move designed
to deliver the business benefits of telephony, security,
wireless and networking to large corporations and government
departments in Australia’s fastest growing business corridor,
Avaya Inc (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business
communications applications, systems and services, today
announced the appointment of Brisbane-based systems integrator,
Comlinx, as a registered BusinessPartner.
New and existing Avaya enterprise and government customers
will benefit greatly from the relationship which is aimed
at helping companies build their comms infrastructure based
on Intelligent Communications to help increase business
efficiency and meet end-user demand.
Recognising the opportunity to stimulate growth in the
Queensland marketplace, company directors, Scott Smith
and Wayne Shaw, both ex-Avaya employees, established
Comlinx to focus on increasing Avaya’s local presence
whilst delivering exceptional customer service across
a portfolio of products aimed at.
“At Comlinx we have taken a different approach as a
complimentary Avaya systems integrator in the Australian
marketplace,’’ said Scott Smith, Director Comlinx. “We
have created a business model based on providing our
customers with an end to end business solution, using
best of breed technology that is tightly integrated
and managed by a single Comlinx support interface.
This approach has seen us receive incredible support
from our customers as well as the global vendors that
we represent. Our focus will continue to be across IP
telephony, contact centres, mobility and security.”
Comlinx has established a partner ecosystem that parallels
Avaya’s global vision and strategy and is working with
other leading global vendors Juniper, Aruba, Polycom and
NICE.
Avaya said Comlinx will complement its existing portfolio
of enterprise BusinessPartners because of its strong
heritage and knowledge of Avaya, its deep industry
expertise in systems integration and growing profile
in the Queensland market.
“Queensland is a very active market with enterprises in
the public and private sectors now investing extensively
in ICT. Headquartered in Queensland, Comlinx is well
positioned to leverage these new market opportunities,”
said Andy Hurt, Avaya’s Channel Director. “Scott and Wayne
are well known in the industry with established strengths
in the ICT space and we wish them all the best as they
continue to grow their operation.”
Mr Hurt added, “Avaya is pleased to be working with a
focused group of Business Partners that offer differentiated
services. Our channel strategy is to select partners with
strong business consulting expertise and those local
organisations that align with our vision to embrace alliances
with the market leading networking, security and wireless
enterprises.”
Mr Smith said, “We are now in an enviable position to help
our customers extend their communications capabilities right
across their company in a secure and seamless way. This has
an incredible ROI through increased productivity for most
of the customers that we are working with. Businesses want
to take the next step to ensure the same business-enabled
communications are carried out from the desktop to the
mobile.”
Comlinx’s philosophy is to continue to build an innovative
and refreshing company to meet business customer needs and
attract the most talented staff. “We have attracted a number
of highly skilled team members at a time where many companies
are experiencing challenges attracting and retaining talent.
We put this down to the success and team based culture that
we are building,” added Wayne Shaw, Co-Director of Comlinx.
