AUSTRALIA – Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV) a leading global provider of communications networks and services for businesses, today announced the appointment of three new executives.
Brad Newton has been appointed Avaya Channel Manager and will be based in Sydney; Geraldine Durante has been named Account Executive, Financial Services and Simon Olive has been appointed Business Development Manager, Victoria.

Brad Newton comes to Avaya from Citrix Systems Asia Pacific, a leader in access information solutions, where he held the position Channel Manager for Australia. As Avaya Channel Manager, Newton will utilise 10 years experience in the IT industry, working closely with Avaya BusinessPartners to deliver practical, cost effective solutions to enterprise customers. Netwon holds a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Management and is currently completing a MBA.
Geraldine Durante has over fifteen years experience in the ICT industry, previously holding positions at Lucent Technologies, Siemens GEC Communications and Digital Equipment Corporation Ltd. As a major account executive with both Lucent and Siemens, Durante developed short and long term strategies to meet client’s present-day and future telecommunications needs. As Account Executive, Financial Services, Durante will use her extensive background in customer service and product development to ensure Avaya’s customers in the Financial sector are up to date with changing technology and help them adapt to meet their evolving communications needs.
Coming to Avaya from Optus, where he held the position Corporate and Government Sales Executive, Simon Olive will use his management and leadership experience to maintain Avaya’s leadership role in developing contact centre technology and advancing enterprise migration to Voice-over-IP technology. Olive holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, majoring in Politics from Monash University and a MBA from Swinburn University.
